Hi, I'm Sophie
I’m a project manager, a parent, and an expat living in Paris, France.
A few years ago I moved here with my family, and what began as a short-term assignment gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to France wasn't part of the long-term plan. Like typical expat relocations, it started as a job chance and soon grew into something far greater.
The initial months were demanding — unfamiliar processes, routines, and expectations. Daily tasks seemed tougher than they ought to be.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, doubt, and plenty of hands-on learning. Yet over time, routines took shape. We found places that fit us, connected with other families, and began building something that felt secure.
Why I Built Beacon Wren Tide
Most information online fell into corporate relocation guidance or superficial tourism content. What was lacking was a genuine, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to bridge that gap — practical advice grounded in real life in France.
What This Site Covers (And What It Doesn’t)
This Site Provides:
- Hands-on experience from living in France
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated when genuine changes occur
This Site Does Not:
- Not a tourism industry authority resource
- Not a platform for sponsored reviews
- Not a generic travel blog
Moving Ahead
Our stay in France continues, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll continue recording our discoveries.
If you have questions about family life in Paris or anywhere in France, please don't hesitate to contact me.
Best regards,
Sophie
